We had video conferencing with NASA. The students were excited ,but also nervous about talking. NASA was very helpful with encourging students.
One of the problems I encounted was scheduling dates and times. Many events had to be booked months in advance
I feel DL will be a great tool as we become more familiar with it.
thanks
Rich
I found the first day very educational. I have never used videoconferencing in the education field, but participated when I worked for corporate. I agree, scheduling could be an issue, but if we can get teachers (even just a few) on board to work it into their curriculum just as they would a field trip I think the teachers will want to continue using videoconferencing.

Hello All,
I think the possibility is endless with videoconferencing. However, I have concerns about the sustainability of the equipment and the money that is necessary for districts to continue upgrading the equipment.
I think some training is necessary on how the technology works because a technology director is not always around to help.
I also think that starting small is the best choice. We were discussing the idea that we could videoconference from room to room within the school in order to teach the students etiquette.
